I’ve Come Out of the Closet

No, not in a way that would have my wife upset. But my anonymous “X” account has been changed to my name, and I’ve outed myself. The obvious intent is to drive traffic to the stories I want to continue writing. I do have an instagram, and my wife is telling me to work that account, but I just don’t think instagram does it for me. Still, I shall endeavor to try.

In other news, I’m about 40% through the third book, with more info on that coming soon. I have a group of beta readers that help me with stories and content, and soon parts of it will be going to them to check. The issue I always struggle with is “how much detail is enough?” When I read stories, or listen to books/watch movies, I’m frequently frustrated in the lack of attention to detail authors provide. I get it, they’re trying to keep the story moving along and don’t want to bore the reader. But doesn’t the reader want to know just a little more about why the character does/says something? Tell me more about the alien world they’re on. Tell me more about the aliens themselves - the physiology, the culture or religion. What made them the way they are?

CAIPARR allows me to provide a bit more detail for the simple fact that she’s an AI, and she thinks in terms of these minor details. But I have to be careful I don’t stall the story with too much of it. I trust and hope that if I do, you guys will provide me some critical feedback. That’s what the beta readers are supposed to do!
