My good friend retired U.S. Army Colonel Miller (who was a great help in advising me about the marines in Books 1 & 2) has the hots for Irina. He kept asking me for AI generated artwork on what I thought she looked like, and these are the shots that I went with (after generating tons of them). Characters always imprint themselves in our mind as we read (or listen to) the books we love. So I don’t know if this is how you see Irina, but this is how I see her.
Spending several years working over in Moscow, and being able to understand the language helped in writing her character, especially the scene where she remembers her grandfather’s death in book 1.
